Carson Group Selects Four Bitcoin ETFs for User Investment
Carson Group, a registered investment advisor (RIA) platform managing $30 billion in assets, has recently announced the selection of four spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for its users. The decision was driven by a focus on funds that have demonstrated outstanding growth and popularity.
Chosen Bitcoin ETFs
- BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT)
- Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC)
- Bitwise’s BITB
- Franklin Templeton’s EZBC
According to a report by Bloomberg, these four ETFs were selected out of 10 SEC-approved options. Carson Group’s Vice President and Investment Strategist Grant Engelbart explained that “significant asset growth” was a key factor for including BlackRock’s and Fidelity’s Bitcoin ETFs in the platform’s offerings. Engelbart also emphasized the importance of offering products from two of the largest asset managers in the industry.
Reasoning Behind Selection
Regarding the less prominent Bitwise and Franklin Templeton funds, the decision was driven by their low planned fees of 0.2% and 0.19% respectively. Engelbart highlighted that both firms have seen large inflows and trading volumes, and have committed to being the lowest-cost providers in the space. Additionally, they possess established in-house digital asset research teams and expertise, which Carson Group views as beneficial to the continuing growth and management of the products, as well as advisor research and education.
Platform Approvals and Advisor Endorsements
The success of spot Bitcoin ETFs relies on new investors and the inflows they bring to the products. Approvals from platforms and financial advisors can be a significant catalyst for growth, according to Bitwise co-founder and CEO Hunter Horsley. Carson Group’s decision to approve these ETFs for its users reflects the potential impact of platform endorsements on the market.
