CoinGecko Launches New API for Real-time On-chain DEX Data

CoinGecko, a crypto asset aggregator platform, has introduced a new Application Programming Interface (API) to provide users with real-time, on-chain data for various blockchains. The new API, powered by GeckoTerminal, known as GeckoTerminal, offers comprehensive tracking of decentralized exchange (DEX) activities across the entire cryptocurrency market.

Unparalleled DEX Data

The release of the new CoinGecko API enables users to access real-time tracking capabilities for DEX data, including on-chain token and liquidity pool data, crypto prices, market data, metadata, and more. The API covers 2.2 million digital tokens distributed across 2.5 million liquidity pools within the DeFi ecosystem. Additionally, it provides access to 900 DEX platforms spread across 120 blockchain networks, including popular platforms such as Uniswap, Curve Finance, Sushiswap, and Orca.

Furthermore, the CoinGecko API offers access to 20 new endpoints, allowing users to navigate DEX pools by browsing top trends or searching for specific pools using smart contract addresses.

CoinGecko co-founder Bobby Ong emphasized that the API serves as a hub, eliminating the need for users to gather identical data from various sources. The release of this API fills a major gap within the decentralized finance ecosystem, as it provides streamlined access to vital data for DeFi users.

Limit Order Feature Brings Automation to Uniswap

In another major development in the DeFi space, Uniswap, the popular automated market maker (AMM) DEX protocol, has introduced the ‘Limit Order’ feature. This feature allows users to buy and sell any ERC-20 token at their preferred prices and timeframes without requiring constant market monitoring. The feature is now live in the Uniswap web app, offering users increased flexibility and control over their trades.
