Bitcoin Surpasses Ethereum
Over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin has surpassed Ethereum in NFT sales volume. Despite the usual market movements, the ranking is expected to change again soon. Zooming out to check the 30-day sales volume, Ethereum is up 26% to $522.6 million, while Bitcoin’s sales volume is down 36% to $275.8 million.
OpenSeason vs. OpenSea
A conflict has emerged between game developer Fractional Uprising Studios, creators of OpenSeason, and NFT marketplace OpenSea. The studio accused OpenSea of falsely disabling their collection and denying them an appeal, leading to the unveiling of a video featuring a ship next to a dock labeled “OpenSea.” OpenSea had delisted the studio’s Ethereum NFT passes, citing a violation of its policies, a claim that OpenSeason has denied.
Meanwhile, Yuga Labs, the entity behind the popular NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), parted ways with OpenSea due to a change in the platform’s royalty model.
